Student Accessibility Services (SAS)
Student Accessibility Services (SAS) provides academic support and accommodations for full-time and part-time students with permanent or temporary disabilities. Oshki-Wenjack is committed to providing reasonable accommodations, while maintaining academic standards and evaluations.
Role of Accessibility Services
- Collaborate to set goals and support your studies
- Review documentation and disability-related needs (documentation is not required for an accommodation plan)
- Determine appropriate academic accommodations for your program
- Assist with navigating accommodations with staff and faculty
- Provide access to adaptive equipment and technology
- Coordinate services such as real-time captioning, sign-language interpretation, tutoring, and note-taking
- Connect with cultural supports, activities, counseling, and elders
- Support academic, communication, and leadership skills development
- Foster a sense of belonging among staff and students
How to Register with SAS
- Submit an intake application detailing your disability or needs, along with any supporting documentation (documentation is optional for an accommodation plan).
- SAS staff will review your intake to determine eligibility for accommodations.
- Book an appointment with an accommodation specialist to finalize your individual accommodation plan.
- SAS will email your approved accommodation plan to your instructors for the semester.
