A Historic Achievement for Oshki-Pimache-O-Win: The Wenjack Education Institute!
Today, we proudly announced that Oshki-Wenjack has officially received accreditation from the Indigenous Advanced Education and Skills Council (IAESC), recognizing the Institute as a fully accredited Indigenous-led post-secondary institution in Ontario.
This achievement reflects years of dedication to delivering high-quality, culturally grounded education for First Nations learners, families, and communities across the North.
We were honoured to celebrate this historic occasion with Ontario’s Minister of Colleges, Universities, Research Excellence and Security Nolan Quinn, Chief Michele Solomon of Fort William First Nation, Nishnawbe Aski Nation ᐊᓂᔑᓇᐯ ᐊᔅᑭ ᐅᑭᒪᐎᓐ Deputy Grand Chiefs Anna Betty Achneepineskum and Bobby Narcisse, and Thunder Bay Mayor Ken Boshcoff, along with our students, staff, and community partners.
We also thank TBT Newswatch and Acadia Broadcasting for joining us to cover this important moment for Indigenous education in Northwestern Ontario.
Miigwech to everyone who continues to walk alongside Oshki-Wenjack. Together, we are building and empowering First Nations futures.
Thanksgiving Closure
Oshki-Pimache-O-Win: The Wenjack Education Institute will be closed Monday, October 13, 2025, for Thanksgiving. We’ll reopen Tuesday, October 14. Enjoy the holiday!
